From Saudi Arabia to Italy. G20 & T20 priorities for (another) crucial year.
The Covid-19 emergency has compounded longstanding global challenges for the multilateral system. From climate change to digital transformation, from international trade to growth and social cohesion, these are testing times for multilateralism. As the Saudi G20 presidency passes the torch to the Italian presidency, the leading think tanks worldwide will come together once more under the Think20 (T20), the official G20 engagement group which provides policy recommendations to the G20 political leaders. On the occasion of the handover from the Chair of the T20 Saudi Arabia to the Chair of T20 Italy, some key questions will drive the debate: what are the lessons learned from past presidencies? What are the challenges and priorities of the G20/T20 Italy? And what to expect in (another) crucial year for multilateralism?
