Tito Boeri
Tito Boeri is full professor of economics at Bocconi University. He was Centennial Professor at the London School of Economics, where he is currently Senior Visiting Professor. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University, he was senior economist at the OECD from 1987 to 1996. He was also consultant to the IMF, the World Bank, The European Commission, the ILO, and the Italian Government. From 2015 to 2019, he was President of the Italian Social Security administration. He is Scientific Advisor of the Ing. Rodolfo Debenedetti Foundation and he is research fellow at CEPR, CEP-LSE, IZA, Netspar and Igier-Bocconi. He is the founder of the economic policy watchdog website www.lavoce.info, in the editorial board of www.voxeu.org, and the Scientific Director of the Festival of Economics in Trento.
Maria Chiara Carrozza
MoS degree in Physics from University of Pisa in 1990, and Ph.D. in Engineering at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy in 1994. She is Full Professor of Industrial Bioengineering at The BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. She has been Rector of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna from 2007 to 2013, Member of the Italian Parliament from 2013 to 2018, and Minister of Education, University and Research of Italian Republic from 2013 to 2014. She is currently Scientific Director of Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation in Milan, Italy, a network of Research hospitals dedicated to Rehabilitation Medicine. Since 2015 she serves in the Board of Directors of the Piaggio SpA. She is Founding Partner of IUVO Srl, a start-up active in the field of Wearable Robotics. She is President of Italian Scientific Association of Biomedical Engineers.
Enrico Giovannini
Enrico Giovannini is full professor of Economic statistics and Sustainable development at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, of Sustainable development at LUISS and at the National School of Administration (SNA). He is the co-founder and director of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, a coalition of more than 240 organisations established to implement in Italy the UN 2030 Agenda 2030. He was Director of Statistics and Chief Statistician of the OECD (2001-2009), President of the Italian Statistical Institute (2009-2013) and Minister of Labour and Social Policies (2013-2014). In October 2014, the President of the Italian Republic made him “Cavaliere di Gran Croce al Merito della Repubblica”, the highest ranking honour of the Italian Republic. He is the author of more than 100 articles and six books on statistical and economic topics.
Paolo Magri
Paolo Magri is Executive Vice President of the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and Professor of International Relations at Bocconi University. He is member of the Strategic Committee of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, member of the Europe Policy Group of the World Economic Forum (Davos) and member of the Board of Directors of the Italy-China Foundation. He is also member of the Scientific Committees of the Elcano Royal Institute, the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU) and of the Military Centerfor Strategic Studies (Ce.Mi.S.S.). He is a regular speaker, writer and commentator to diverse media outlet on global issues, US foreign policy, Iran and Middle East. Previously, he served as Programme Director to the UN Secretariat in New York and, up to 2005, as Director of International Affairs at Bocconi University in Milan.
Franco Bruni
Franco Bruni is ISPI Vice President and Co-Head, Centre on Europe and Global Governance. He is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Economics of Bocconi University. Italian member of the European Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee, he has co-chaired the task force International Financial Architecture in the T20 since 2018. He has been Vice President and President of the Société Européenne de Recherches Financières. Holds degrees from Bocconi and MIT. He has been visiting professor in several international universities, including NYU, Fudan and, Getulio Vargas. He authored many publications in the fields of Macroeconomics, European Economics, International Banking and Finance. He has been an independent member of the Board of Saipem(1998-2005), Unicredit Banca Mobiliare (2000-2007), Pirelli (2005-2014), Mediaset (2015-18).
Francesco Profumo
Francesco Profumo is President of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Chairman of ACRI – Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio SpA, Chairman of Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Trento), President of Business School ESCP – Campus of Turin, and President of Collège des Ingénieurs – Campus of Turin.
Professor of Electrical Machines of the Polytechnic Turin, he formerly held the position of Dean of Engineering at the Polytechnic Turin, and Rector of the Polytechnic Turin. Profumo was formerly President of the National Research Council, and Minister of Education, University and Research. He also performed is duties as Chairman of Iren SpA, and Chairman of Inwit SpA.
Nicholas Buchoud
President, the Grand Paris Alliance, Global Solutions Fellow Nicolas J.A. Buchoud is the President of the Grand Paris Alliance for Metropolitan Development, an award-winning and collaborative think-tank. He is also the co-owner of Renaissance Urbaine, the strategic advisory consultancy he established in 2006. He has served as senior advisor to the President of Paris Ile de France Region and has served in several public positions. He is the editor of The Smart Cities We Need Manifest, launched in 2016, edited in Russian and to be released in Arabic in partnership with Université Hassan II in Casablanca in 2017. He holds a Masters degree in public administration (Sciences Po Paris), a Masters degree in urban and regional planning (Sciences Po Paris) and a Masters degree in XVIIth Century Chinese History (Paris La Sorbonne). He serves as a member of the post Habitat III General Assembly of Partners (GAP), the Global Planners Network (GPN) and of the Deutsche Akademie für Städtebau und Landesplanung (DASL). Joisa Dutra
Prof. Joisa Dutra is the Founder and Director of the Center for Studies in Regulation and Infrastructure (CERI) at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil, since 2010. Prior to CERI, she was Director at the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) from 2005 to 2009. Her research work has focused on the economics of regulation for the network industries, the economics of energy, auctions, procurement and contracts, governance, risk, and financing of infrastructure industries. Prof. Dutra is a graduate in Economics, obtaining her MSc. and Ph.D. degrees at FGV’s Graduate School of Economics where she is a Professor. She was a visiting professor at Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard University’s Kennedy School (2010) and the University of Queensland through the Australian Leadership Award Fellowship Program (2013). With a distinguished career in the economics of regulations for the network industries, Prof. Dutra is a member of the Global Future Council platform from the World Economic Forum since 2014, the E-DSO’s Council of Innovation, and Board Member of SANEPAR.
Shamshad Akhtar
Dr. Shamshad Akhtar is an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and the tenth Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Formerly the UN Secretary-General’s Senior Advisor on Economics and Finance, and Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development at the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, she led the UN-wide coordination of the initial work on the post-2015 development agenda and was also the United Nations Sherpa for the G20. Dr. Akhtar has previously served as Governor of the Central Bank of Pakistan and as Vice President of the Middle East and North Africa Region of the World Bank. In her capacity as Governor, Ms. Akhtar was also the Chairperson of the Central Bank Board and its affiliates, as well as a Governor of the IMF. She won two consecutive awards as Asia’s Best Central Bank Governor from Emerging Markets and from the Banker’s Trust. In 2008, The WALLSTREETJOURNALASIA also recognized her as one of the top ten professional women of Asia.
Raffaele Della Croce
Raffaele Della Croce is a Senior Economist at the OECD and Senior Fellow at Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin. He has been Senior Fellow at Imperial College in 2019/2020 at the Centre for Climate Finance and Investment in London. He is responsible for producing research and analysis on sustainable investment, low carbon infrastructure financing, impact of innovation and infratech for resilience. Recent work includes ESG Investment in infrastructure part of the OECD Business and Finance Outlook published in October 2020. At the OECD he has launched the “Institutional Investors and Long-term Investment” project gathering major pension funds, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds across the world www.oecd.org/finance/lti. As coordinator of the G20/OECD Taskforce on Long Term Investment he has been contributing to policy discussions at the level of G20, Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the European Commission. This work was developed in close collaboration with major organizations such as the World Bank, IMF, EIB and Asian Development Bank. Before joining the OECD, he worked in the financial industry for eight years, mainly with Ernst & Young and Moody’s Investors Services in London. As part of international teams advising governments or private consortia, he has been involved in the analysis, structuring and negotiation of the largest transactions in the utilities and project financing sectors in Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Karim El Aynaoui
President of the Policy Center for the New South, and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and Executive Vice-President of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. From 2005 to 2012, he worked at the Central Bank of Morocco as the Director of Economics, Statistics and International Relations. Prior to this, he served as an economist at the World Bank. He holds scientific and advisory positions in various institutions, including the Malabo-Montpellier Panel, the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, and the French Institute of International Relations. He is also advisor to the CEO and Chairman of the OCP Group, and serves as a board member of the OCP Foundation and as a global member of the Trilateral Commission. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bordeaux.
Carlo Secchi
Carlo Secchi is Vice-President of ISPI since 11 July 2005. He was President of ISPI for the second semester of 2016. Currently he his Professor Emeritus of European Economic Policy at Bocconi University in Milan, where he was Rector in the period 2000-2004 and Full Professor between 1983 and 2011. He was the Chairman of the Italian Group of the Trilateral Commission (2003-2016) and he has been a member of the board of scientific Foundations and Institutions and an advisor to various Italian and foreign research Institutes, to Italian public Institutions and to the European Union. He has served in the board of various Italian Companies and Banks; currently he is a member of the board of Mediaset and he chairs the Supervisory Body of Pirelli. On behalf of the European Commission, in July 2009 he was appointed as European Coordinator for infrastructural Priority Projects (TEN-T) between France, Spain and Portugal and since March 2014 he his European Coordinator of the Atlantic Core Network Corridor. In 2013-2014 he was the Chairman of the High Level Group on Business Services (DG Industry and DG Internal Market). He was a member of the European Parliament in 1994-1999, where he served as Vice-President of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee. He was a member of the Italian Senate in 1994-1996.
Nicola Bilotta
Nicola Bilotta is a researcher the Istituto Affari Internazionali where he works on international political economy, digital economy and geofinance. He worked as a Senior Research Analyst at the Banker Research Team (Financial Times), with which he still collaborates as consultant analyst. In addition, he was Institute Fellow at the Seven Pillar Institute of Finance & Ethics and associate fellow at the Istituto di Alti Studi di Geopolitica e Scienze Ausiliarie (IsAG). He co-authored the books “The (near) future of Central Bank Digital Currencies. Risks and opportunities for the global economy and society” and “The Rise of Tech Giants. A Game Changer in Global Finance and Politics”. Nicola holds a MSC in Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
